I recently read this post, which interprets the statement in Isaiah 42:3 regarding the famous "end times servant". This verse says, "A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench", and the post explains this scripture as meaning that this servant "will carry his burden quietly and alone. He will not lean on any man, because in contrast to the weight he carries, they are as bruised reeds and smoking flax."
I found this an interesting interpretation, and prayed to understand whether it was correct or not. Immediately, this blog came to mind, and the posts I referred to recently that were more accusatory and spiteful than I now feel is appropriate. I admit I didn't see right away any link between that thought, and the question I'd asked. But if this servant relies wholly on the Lord, he probably won't spend his time tearing down those around him who don't rely on the Lord. He won't bother trying to extinguish others' weak and counterfeit light, but rather will simply emphasize the true light of the Lord.
To be clear, I make no claim to be anyone special, at all. I don't harbor any idea that I'm the servant mentioned in these scriptures. But I think it's valuable to study that servant's behavior and the principles underlying his actions, just as it's helpful to emulate godly principles displayed by any other individual.
To that end, I've permanently removed several posts from this blog, including the single post that has ever garnered a non-spam comment, because they were too accusatory in my view. Whether or not my accusations were correct, making them is not useful. It does far more good to focus on the Lord's true light than to moan about what I perceived to be others' counterfeits.
